Phone calls are another common way that criminals target estate agency clients, so before giving out any information about your matter (especially bank or other payment details) to anyone calling saying they are from this firm, first ensure you ask sufficient details and take sufficient steps to be sure that the call really is from us – even if the call appears to come from our phone number, as numbers may be ‘spoofed’ to make it appear that they are genuine when they are not.

Please check the sender and other details carefully, and if you are in any doubt as to the authenticity of any e-mail you receive appearing to be from us, please call us and ask to speak to a Director, and only call using the firm’s telephone number provided to you by us at the outset of your property transaction, to ensure the suspicious email/call you have received was genuine – particularly ones relating to any money needing to be sent by you to us or any third party. We cannot warrant that any emails we send to you have not been intercepted, corrupted or altered before being sent to you, or equally, emails from you to us.  Read Maurice Residential Limited does not accept liability for any money paid to an incorrect or fraudulent account by you.
